Yucatan Peninsula Cruise Holidays.

One of the more famous and most popular destinations in Mexico today is found in this area. The famous Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico contains the Mexican states of Yucatán, Campeche, Quintana Roo. Also part of Tabasco, all of Belize and part of northern Guatemala.

The Yucatán projects into the Atlantic Ocean and separates the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean Sea. The peninsula is a coralline limestone tableland with an average elevation of less than 500 ft.  The Yucatan contains both the Mexico towns of Cancun and Cozumel.  These are very popular for cruise ships visiting the regions.

The climate is generally hot, moderated by the trade winds. Maximum precipitation occurs in summer, the average rainfall ranges from about 20 inches annually in the north to about 80 inches in the extreme south.
